The Basement Door
Date: 13th May 2023
Every night, the creaking of the basement door echoed throughout the old house. Despite my fear, I had to investigate. I crept down the stairs and into the damp, dimly lit basement. In the center of the room stood an old wooden chest. Something about it drew me in, and I slowly approached. As I reached for the lid, a gnarled hand shot out and grabbed my wrist.
A sickening laughter filled the room, and a voice whispered, "You should not have come down here."
I tried to pull away, but the hand held me firm. Suddenly, the lid of the chest flew open, and a putrid smell filled my nostrils. I saw the face of a long-dead woman staring up at me with hollow eyes. I screamed and ran up the stairs, the laughter following me all the way. The next day, I tried to tell my family what had happened, but they laughed it off, saying it was just my imagination.
But every night, the creaking of the basement door continued, a constant reminder of the horrors that lay in wait below.
The Night Drive
Date: 13th May 2023
The highway was empty, except for my car and the darkness that engulfed everything in sight. I had been driving for hours, trying to make it to my destination before sunrise. But as the night wore on, a sense of unease began to creep over me.
My eyes played tricks on me, and I thought I saw shadows moving on the side of the road. The sound of my tires on the pavement was the only thing breaking the silence, until I heard a faint whisper. At first, I thought it was just my imagination, but the voice grew louder and more insistent.
Suddenly, a figure appeared in the middle of the road. I slammed on the brakes, but it was too late. The car collided with the figure, and I felt a sickening thud as it hit the hood. I stepped out of the car, heart racing, and saw a woman lying motionless on the road.
As I called for help, I noticed something strange about her. Her eyes were glowing, and a sinister smile spread across her face. I realized then that I had not hit a person, but something far more sinister. I got back in my car and drove away as fast as I could, knowing that I had narrowly escaped a fate worse than death.
The Picnic in the Woods
Date: 12th May 2023
Julie and her friends had been planning their picnic for weeks. They chose the perfect spot in the woods, near a small lake surrounded by tall trees. The sun was shining, and there wasn't a cloud in sight. It was the perfect day for a picnic.
As they unpacked their food and drinks, they noticed that the woods were eerily quiet. There were no birds singing, no leaves rustling, nothing. But they shrugged it off, thinking that maybe the animals were just taking a nap.
As they started to eat, they heard a faint sound coming from the woods. It sounded like someone was whispering, but they couldn't make out what was being said. They tried to ignore it, thinking it was just the wind, but the whispering only grew louder.
Suddenly, they saw a figure emerge from the woods. It was a woman, dressed in rags and covered in dirt. She had wild, unkempt hair and a twisted smile on her face. Julie and her friends were paralyzed with fear as the woman approached them, slowly and deliberately. As she got closer, they could see that she was holding a small knife. Julie and her friends tried to run, but the woman was too fast. She caught up to them, one by one, and stabbed them with the knife. Julie was the only one left, and she knew that she was next.
In the end, Julie was found by a group of hikers, wandering aimlessly through the woods. She was in shock and couldn't remember what had happened to her friends. But the police found evidence of a gruesome murder scene, and the woman with the knife was never found.
From that day on, Julie never went on a picnic again. She couldn't shake the feeling of being watched, and the memory of the woman in the woods haunted her for the rest of her life.
